If you experience
trouble staying connected to Leapfrog, please follow the process below:
Please be
aware that our network providers have a hard limit of 4 hours as the session
length. This means that the network will disconnect you if you have been
online for 4 hours straight. This limit is designed to avoid 'dedicated'
connections and protect the surfing experience of the majority of users.
After this session disconnect, users will be able to login again immediately.
If your disconnects are happening before the 4 hour session limit, please
try the suggestions below:
Because each Windows-based operating system and email program is a little
different, your options may vary, but we have three suggestions for you:
First, in the Start menu, open Settings and Control Panel, then:
Click Internet Options.
Click the Connection tab.
Click the Settings button.
Click Advanced.
Uncheck the box next to 'disconnected if idle for (blank) minutes' and
save your settings.
Second, in Outlook/Outlook Express, go to the Tools menu and down
to Options. Somewhere in there (again, it will depend on the version),
there may a setting to 'Disconnect after sending/receiving'. Make sure
this is UNCHECKED and save your settings.|
Third, while you are still in Outlook/Outlook Express, go again
to the Tools menu and down to Options. Look for an option to 'Send and
receive every __ minutes.' Change this options to '10', and save your
settings. Have this program open while you are surfing around the Internet.
By checking email every 10 minutes, it will be sending traffic over the
connection and will help the network know that you are still connected.
