What you need to get started:

Please print the instructions for easy follow-along and for future reference.

For all Mac operating systems between 8.0 and 9.0, your configurations will be done via the Internet Setup Assistant. If you can't find the Internet Setup Assistant using the directions below, use your search utility (e.g. Sherlock from the Apple menu) to find the Internet Setup Assistant.

To begin the Assistant with versions 8.0 through 8.5:

To begin, close all programs and return to the Desktop. All Internet related programs for Mac OS 8 and 8.5 are located in the Internet folder located on your startup hard drive. Double-click the Internet Setup Assistant icon. This will bring up the Internet Setup Assistant window.

To begin the Assistant with version 9.0:
To begin, close all programs and return to the Desktop. Double-click on the 'Hard Drive' icon. From the Hard Drive window, double-click on the Assistants icon to open this folder. In the Assistants window, double-click on the Internet Setup Assistant icon. This will bring up the Internet Setup Assistant window.

Using the Internet Setup Assistant
Begin the Assistant by hitting the 'Yes' button.

Click 'Yes' to continue.

This next box is very important, so please make sure to follow the instructions as closely as possible.

In the top field, put the number that your computer will be dialing to access the Internet.

**Please note it is the customer's responsibility to find the correct access number that is a local call.**

In the middle field,

At the end of your user name, enter the appropriate network extension from one of the tables below.
