This tutorial will quickly help you configure the Leapfrog Dialer to connect to the Internet. If you have any difficulties please call 877-266-4831 or email us at support@leapmail.net with your questions. What
you need to get started: 1.
An account with Leapfrog Internet Please print these instructions for easy follow-along and for future reference. Starting
The Setup Wizard
You will be prompted to choose a local access number. The Select Dialup Number screen gives you several ways to search for access numbers. Simply pull down from the appropriate drop-down menu and choose the access number that's right for you. In this example, the user simply used the area code menu to choose the correct area code and highlighted the number that was local. Now hit 'OK'
You will receive a message confirming your choice of numbers.
On this screen, simply enter the appropriate information in the appropriate fields. Pay attention to the options at the bottom and make sure that only the ones you want are checked. When you are done, simply hit the 'OK' button.
You will receive the following message as the Setup Wizard configures your dialup networking, browser, and email program.
Once your computer has been configured for Leapfrog Internet, you will receive this message describing how to connect to Leapfrog and use your email and browser. Hit 'OK' and the window will close.
Once the Setup Wizard has completed the configuration, you will see a new icon on your desktop. Whenever you wish to connect to the Internet, simply double-click on this icon.
You will now see your connect screen with all of your information. Your username, password and access number have all been saved and you are ready to hit the connect button. If you need to make any changes or wish to customize the dialer, please continue reading. Otherwise, you can now hit the connect button and watch as you connect to the Internet. Once you are connected, simply open up a browser and/or email program and you are ready to surf and send emails.
You can see your list of your default options by hitting the 'Options' button. Make sure to put check marks next to any additional options that you would like and/or remove the check marks next to any option that you do not prefer to have set. Now click on the 'Modem' tab.
The defaults in this screen should be appropriate 99% of the time; this screen is helpful in troubleshooting if you do not hear a modem dialing. You can come here to make sure that your computer recognizes a modem and to make sure the volume is turned on.
Our Dialer is set to automatically update your dialup number list as the access numbers change. Although this is infrequent, it is nice to know that you will always have a list of updated numbers and can check to see when the last time the list was updated.
If you need to enable or disable the XP Internet Connection Firewall, you can do this on the 'Advanced' tab.
This Properties area is where you can change your main dial settings depending on what your dialing needs are. Here you can create multiple location profiles (Home, Work, Travel, etc.) that you can switch to with ease; do this by hitting the 'New' button and entering in the respective settings based on that location. For example, you can set your computer to dial an outside line, disable call waiting, and use 10 digit dialing.
