Leapfrog Internet now offers a world-class accelerator service in partnership with Slip Stream Data. This service, in conjunction with our premium dial access, will give you performance up to 5 times that of a normal dial up Internet connection.

In addition to compressing text and images, our accelerator performs what is known as 'content caching'. This means that we will store content from the most popular web pages on our servers throughout the Internet. As an example, without our accelerator service, if you are in California and you try to visit a web site that is hosted in New York, the traffic must go all the way from your connection in California to retrieve the information in New York and go back to California.

With our accelerator service, we keep popular content on our web servers throughout the country. This means that if you are in California and trying to access a popular web page that's based in New York, we will have that information cached in one of our servers that might already be in California. This way the 'distance' traveled is much less and the page is much quicker to load.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ACCELERATOR?

WHAT FEATURES DOES THIS SERVICE OFFER?
Leapfrog has partnered with Slip Stream because they are recognized as THE premier accelerator service. It not only performs exceptionally well, it is also very easy to install and configure. With a couple clicks of a mouse, YOU can decide how fast you want the service to work (the faster the speed you desire, the more compressed the images will appear), and you can change these settings as often as you desire.

In addition to the accelerator part of the service, there is also a fully functioning and easy-to-use POP UP blocker. Just like the accelerator, it is very easy to change settings to either allow or prevent POP UP ads. You can also create a 'white list', which will by default allow POP UPs for sites that have legitimate POP UPs.

HOW TO SIGN UP FOR ACCELERATOR SERVICE?
Signing up for this service is quite straightforward, and the monthly cost is just $4.95. If you are a current customer, simply call or email our sales office (sales@leapmail.net or 877.807.0989) and we will activate this service for you. If you are not yet a customer but wanting to sign up, you can simply choose the bundled service when you sign up online. The accelerator is considered an add-on feature, so you can always have the Internet service without the accelerator.

HOW TO SETUP AND CONFIGURE THE ACCELERATOR?
Once you have activated your service, simply download and and save the file on your desktop. Once the file has been saved, simply go to your desktop and double-click on the file called 'SS_Installer.xxx'. The file will begin installation, and follow the prompts until you get to the username and password screen. Your username will look something like 'jsmith@accel.leapmail.net'.

You may then be prompted to restart your computer. When you do, you will notice a new icon on your screen that looks like a blue ball with a stripe. To change the settings of the accelerator and the bundled pop-up blocker, simply click on this icon and go to the appropriate menu.
